This document shows an easy three-step process to take files from two cameras and produce a full set of aligned 3D images in one’s computer using a process that has been tweaked for ease-of-use down to the last mouse-click. Process makes use of 3DPic-Sync that can be downloaded below.

Microsoft Installer (MSI) Version of 3DPic-Sync
To install: Doubleclick on the .MSI file.
3DPic-Sync will be fully installed including shortcuts in the Start menu, shortcut on the desktop, and uninstall'ability via the Control Panel's "Add or Remove Program" mechanism. If installation is an update to an older verion, the old version will be automatically be taken care of before the new version is installed. This is the preferred way to install 3DPic-Sync.

ZIP version of 3DPic-Sync
Install manually: Tranfer the files contained in the ZIP archive into a directory (usually C:\Program Files\3DPic-Sync). Replace existing files there if this is an upgrade. Copy a shortcut to the .EXE file to the desktop or the menu structure as desired. Optionally copy a shortcut to the .TXT "help" file as well.

VB6 Runtime Support Files
If missing-file error messages occur after installing and trying to run 3DPic-Sync, then the computer probably doesn't have the necessary Microsoft VB6 runtime redistribution files installed. Read about them in KB 290887, install them using this download, or download the installer directly from Microsoft.

| |
Windows Installer Redistributables
If the computer doesn't recognize the ".MSI" suffix when attempting to use the Installer version of 3DPic-Sync above, then the appropriate "Windows Installer Redistributables" needs to be downloaded from Microsoft and installed (version depends upon the particular OS being used).
For example, for XP (SP2 and newer) the Installer can be downloaded from here on Microsoft' site. And alternatively for XP "plain" and XP SP1 (in addition to a few other OS versions), it can be downloaded from here on Microsoft's site (KB #893803).
